Often in Interior Design, beginning a new project can be difficult. If you are starting over or you have a very neutral palette to work with, a good place to begin is with the windows. Though, some do not care for drapery panels or valances, they can add a major "wow" factor to any space. I like to first determine what type of window covering is needed or desired. For instance, if you have a room with shorter ceiling heights, but you would like to give the illusion of a higher ceiling, you can hang panels on either side of the window, from the ceiling to the floor. This gives your room the illusion of being taller while also adding a dramatic focal point. Another example is if you have a window that you do not wish to cover (because of the light it lets in or the nice view) you can create a valance to place above the window to add a little bit of interest.

I created this funky urban space with the idea of using it in a loft style cityscape atmosphere. This design aesthetic would be great for a bachelor pad or a couple with a more modern, streamlined taste in decor. * Metro Stop Art Work The artist, Parvez Taj, has layered seven eye-catching digital graphics from around the city to create a complex and intricate piece of art. The print includes subway lines, texture tiles and black-and-white fonts. The artist says, "I like to think of them as a little art tags that thread the city".. This piece includes the artist signature on the front and his biography on the back. This is a limited edition peace and will not be reissued once they are gone. www.cb2.com $179.00 each I created this conceptual master bedroom design using neutral, clean lined furniture pieces. The queen size bed is from Calligarts. It combines a veneer/faux coffee colored leather with a wedged finish. It emphasizes versatility through it's sleek design and functionality while providing comfort and compatibility through its neutral color palette. It comes in 5 different frames/headboard combinations and can be combined with a variety of furniture pieces to create a romantic ambience.
