Grey is the "New" Neutral

The color grey is trending largely in interior fashions this season. Grey has become the "new" neutral color, even though the common neutral colors beige & taupes will never go away, grey has become such a fashion statement that it is even making appearances on fingers and toes in the form of nail polish.

In interiors, the most popular color combination with grey (and my personal favorite) seems to be the colors yellow or acid green. From the different fabrics, which include IKats, Damask, & Wovens, down to the tassels, tapes & brush fringes, the color grey is hugely popular.

Grey can sometimes appear as a drearier color, however, when combined with brighter colors it can, not only alter the mood of a space but can also enhance those bright colors especially when those colors are used in dramatic ways, like as paint on the walls of a big room.

The color grey comes in many variations. On a color wheel, you can pick from warm greys, that have more of a red tone, or cool greys that have more of a blue tone. Using a light grey hue on the main walls in a space with a dark grey accent wall gives the room a wonderfully dramatic effect along with a great depth perception.

The room with the free standing accent wall is stunning. What colors are used? Sherman Williams? Thx.

Hey Cory....I'm not sure what color that is but I'm almost positive that Sherman Williams has a color that is very close if not exactly the same.
