Feeling Blue? Feel Navy!

Trending Color: Blue, especially Navy.

Today's world of interior design changes it's trending color like the seasons. One of my favorite "trends" today is the love of the color navy. Wheather it's fabric, trim, paint or accessoires you can find this color in almost any design store or magazine.

While I love the color, I'm partial to mixing it with pops of other colors, such as coral & turquoise (other trending colors). When paired with lighter, brighter colors it keeps any navy color from becoming over powering or too dark.

If using Navy as a wall color you may not want to paint the entire room. Painting the entire room will definitely darken the space and make the space appear smaller. You want to use this color as an accent color on one wall that you want to make a focal point in the room.

The color navy gives an understanding of importance, confidence, power, and authority as well as intelligent, stability, unity, and conservatism. It is considered to be a neutral color and like the color black it carries a sense of elegance and sophistication.
